Carl Shank is an accomplished author, educator, mentor, church consultant, and retired pastor. With over three decades of experience in church consulting, he has dedicated himself to guiding churches and leaders in fulfilling their God-given potential. His early insightful works for leaders include "Following Hard After God," "Making Christianity Work," and "Daily Insights," along with a variety of study guides available through Lulu, Amazon, and other booksellers. CARE Typography operates as a sister site under the umbrella of Carl Shank Consulting, focusing on type and church and ministry-related projects, especially related to the historic development of type faces. Established in the late 1980s, we embarked on a new journey with CARE Typography, utilizing Macintoshes and LaserWriters to introduce clients to innovative computing and design possibilities. Initially, our clientele comprised primarily of churches and friends within the community. At that time, CARE Typography developed several Greek and Hebrew fonts, which were still in their early design stages. We collaborated with the Zondervan Corporation, a prominent Christian publisher, on a substantial project to develop a useful Greek New Testament font.

As the business and ministry grew, it became evident that, in addition to producing standard church and nonprofit materials like newsletters, bulletins, posters, and letterheads, leadership coaching and consulting took center stage in the company’s mission. Consequently, CARE Typography evolved into Carl Shank Consulting, broadening its client base to include influential leaders in the church and ministry landscape.

CARE Typography has recently dedicated itself to the conversion of older PageMaker files to newer Adobe InDesign files as well as restoring old typefaces.
